This is mostly geared toward our scouters, but anyone can benefit from this training!
So, scout leaders (cubs and 11 year olds), if you're planning any kind of swimming activity this summer, even if it's in your own backyard, PLEASE remember to fill out a tour permit and be sure at least two leaders present have been safe swim certified. The great thing about this--it can all be done ONLINE. :)
Click HERE to learn about why a tour permit is needed.
Click HERE to fill out a permit. You will be required to sign in, but it should take you to the tour permit option after signing in. Remember to file your tour permit at least 2 weeks prior to the activity. The council receives tour permit from packs and troops all over the state, so please allow enough time for review and approval.
Click HERE to read about and access the Safe Swim Defense training. Even if you don't own a pool, this is great training if you ever plan to be supervising an event as a leader or as a parent. You can take the course through the myscouting.org website, under E-Learning.
We want to keep all our scouts safe this summer! Let's make sure we're all trained the most we can be for the benefit our our boys and our pack/troop!
