Happy Summer!

School is almost out and summer is almost here! I don't know about your house, but the occupants in our house are SO excited!

We hope you have a wonderful, relaxing summer! We want to remind you, too, we still need you during the summer! :) As you are making your summer travel plans, please please PLEASE remember to find a sub for your class/meeting. Remember, first call the parents of the children you teach to substitute for you. If they are unavailable, please let us know and we can help you find alternatives. More than anything though, please try to be there. I know the summer sun calls us elsewhere (believe me, I know), but the children in Primary are still there and still so excited to see YOU, their teacher. They know you and expect you to be there. Please try your best to do this. Those in Cub Scouts, 11 year old scouts and Activity days, please remember to keep the 2-deep leadership rule. Also, there is no den/scout/Activity Day meetings in July.

Thank you, thank you for your support!

Oh, and good news! We will be passing out music CD's for each family and teacher in Primary with all the Primary songs for the upcoming (September 25) Sacrament Meeting Presentation this week. We hope you (and your Primary kids) will enjoy these songs over summer break. Play them on your road trips, listen and sing them for Family Night, play them while they are swimming, doing a craft, having a friend over....the possibilities are endless! Also during the summer, we will provide word sheets for the teachers and children (who can read) to help them better know the songs.

Also, to my Sunday teachers, Sis. Whaley, our Primary chorister, has been working so hard to help us start on time and help us learn all these wonderful songs. As the time is getting closer to the program, it's so important that we DO start on time, so she has as much time as possible to teach the children. To assist in that, we will be playing "wiggle songs" at the very beginning of Primary each week, as the children come in. We're going to test it out anyway ;) At the end of the "wiggle section", we will sing "Scripture Power" (also on your CD) and that will cue the children to bring up their Scripture pennies (as we have been doing) and return to their seats, reverently and ready to begin Primary. Please help us accomplish this by helping the children know what to expect. We hope this will encourage all the children to come to Primary and enjoy it and those who are shy may want to come in!

One more thing :) Though there is no den/scout/Activity Day meetings in July, there will be a Ward Pancake Breakfast on July 2, which the Bishop has asked the Primary to plan. Scout leaders, please note this will count for pack meeting in July and can help us earn the Quality Unit Award. We have some great ideas for this fun activity but we would love to hear any ideas you might have! So, if you have a great idea that you've done/seen in another ward for the 4th of July, let us know--shoot us an email, call us, send a carrier pigeon...  We would love to hear from you.

Thank you again for your support! We love you! We couldn't do this without you!!
