Happy August!

Can you believe it's August 2011?? Where HAS the time gone?

Time sure has flown though and soon (if they haven't already) our Primary kiddos will be heading back to school, cub scouts, 11 year old scouts and activity days. To those leaders, we hope you've enjoyed your little break and hope you are ready to start up refreshed and renewed!

With that, we want to help you with some reminders and ideas.

1) BIG REMINDER: Our Sacrament meeting time changes THIS WEEK (8/7) to 12:00 PM. With this change, there will be a lot of flustered kids. They need to see your familiar face to know the change is good, especially for our little ones. :) Please be there and be ready. If there's anything we can do to help you, let us know.

2) As a Presidency and in discussion with the Bishopric, we've decided to change the Primary Sacrament meeting presentation to October 23 (from September 25). In doing so, Sunday teachers, we will send you an updated lesson schedule with the new practice date. One benefit to having 12 PM church is that we have the chapel to practice in for the program! This may eliminate a Saturday practice. We will keep you posted. Also, if you would like a CD with the music for our 2011 program, please let us know. Teachers, remember, you will be up on stage with your kiddos singing, so it would help us greatly if you knew the songs too! :)

3) This past Sunday (7/31), we discussed in Sharing Time the importance of the Gospel Standards in order to prepare us all to be worthy to enter the temple. I offered senior primary the poster which lists the standards (also printed on the back of the Faith in God booklet) to any child who did not receive one at baptism. Leaders and teachers of 8-11 year old children, please check with each of your children, especially as we start up again, that they have a poster of the Gospel Standards and, more importantly, have a Faith in God booklet. When attending cub scouts, 11 year old's and activity days, the children should use the activities you do to aid them in completing this program. Plus, if we could stress the importance of these standards--for the children to learn and do them NOW--their lives will be so blessed as they grow and mature into young women and young men. It seems the world is often pushing our children to grow up faster, so please, help me (and their parents) help them to be prepared with righteous standards. Make sure they have the poster and the booklet.

We are SO very grateful for each one of you!! We hope you know how much you are appreciated. You are doing a great work with the children in this ward. Future missionaries, future leaders, future mothers and fathers. Thank you for being dedicated to the work and to these little ones.

We love you!
